Podcasting has gone through waves of popularity over the past few years but, thanks largely to iTunes, it's booming now. The great thing is, you don't need much to get started. This session will lead you through the whole process:
If Drupal isn't your cup of tea, maybe you'd prefer Wordpress? People baffled by the complexity and performance issues of Drupal take to Wordpress.
What if your site is already in Drupal and you don't want to remake all of those pages and links?
If you open the basic plugins page for Wordpress, “popular tags” turn up over 800 plugins for images and another 675 for image -- 1400 plugins? Doesn’t Wordpress have built-in gallery capacity? (Yes it does!)
Extending Wordpress from the out-of-the-box install can make a person crazy -- it’s as though an aisle of cereal weren’t enough so the supermarket offers an entire floor of choice. While we can’t stop developers from constantly re-inventing the wheel, we can at least help beginner and intermediate users find those plugins that are stable, well-supported and just plain work.
Public Speaking, Training and Seminars
Maybe you don't need to hire us to do the heavy lifting but want to pick our brains to improve your own skills -- we can do that too. We have spoken at WordCamp Victoria, Social Media Club and FreelanceCamp Victoria. We can present seminars or hands-on workshops for small to mid-size groups and we can train or tutor individuals one-on-one.
Cheryl and Mike DeWolfe are presenting "Categories vs. Tags: Organization Smackdown!" a talk on WordPress and its taxonomy system. We explore the differences, how to use them and how to capitalize on categories, tags and custom taxonomies.
The goal is to balance beginner and intermediate info for the audience.
